Chicken Kappa Biriyani




Ingredients

For Marination 
1. Chicken - 3/4 kg (with bone) 
2. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
3. Coriander powder - 1 tbs
4. Chilli powder - 1 1/2 tsp
5.  Salt - to taste 

For Boiling tapioca
1. Tapioca - 3/4 kg
2. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
3. Salt - to taste
4. Water

For Gravy
1. Onion - 3 (sliced chopped)
2. Ginger and garlic paste - 1 1/2 tbs
3. Curry leaves - 2 spring
4. Green chillies - 3
5. Lemon - 1/2
6. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
7. Coriander powder - 1 1/2 tsp
8. Chilli powder - 1 tsp
9. Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
10. Pepper powder - 1/2 tbs
11. Coconut oil - 2 tbs
12. Water - 1/2 cup
13. Salt - to taste

For Seasoning
1. Coconut oil - 1 tbs
2. Shallots - 3 (finely chopped) 
3. Dry coconut - 3 1/2 tbs
4. Curry leaves - 2 spring

Method
1. Take cleaned and washed chicken, then add 2 - 5 ingredients (for marination) and mix it well. Keep it aside atleast 30 minutes. 
2. Then take cleaned and washed tapioca, cut into small cubes and transfer to a pressure cooker. 
3. Add salt, turmeric powder, mix it well and pressure cook in medium flame for three whistles (this may vary depending on the tapioca).
4. Heat coconut oil in a pan, add 1 - 4 ingredients (for gravy) and saute it well.
5. When the onions turned brown, add 6 - 9 ingredients (for gravy) and saute    for few minutes.
6. Then add marinated chicken, mix it well and cook it in medium flame.
7. When the chicken is half cooked, add half lemon juice, water and salt. 
8. After the chicken is cooked, open the pressure cooker and drain the water from the tapioca. 
9. Then move tapioca to the chicken curry and mix it well. Cook it in low flame.
10. Add pepper powder and nicely mix it and turn off the flame.
11. Take a another pan, heat coconut oil and add 2 - 4 ingredients
(for seasoning).
12. When the grated coconut turns brown, turn off the flame, then add it to the chicken and kappa mixture. 
13. Finally mix it well and your chicken kappa biriyani is ready.
