Cabbage Thoran With Coconut (Kerala Style)





INGREDIENTS

1. Cabbage - 1/2 of one medium sized
2. Shallots - 5
3. Green chilli - 4
4. Curry leaves - 3 sprig
5. Grated coconut - 4 tbs 
6. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
7. Mustard seed - 1 tsp
8. Urad daal - 1 tsp
9. Dry chilli - 2
10. Coconut oil - 2 tbs
11. Salt - to taste

Method 

1. First, finely chopp cabbage and a keep it aside. 
2. Take a small mixer grinder jar and add shallots, green chillies, 1 sprig curry leaves, grated coconut and turmeric powder, then just whip it and keep it aside. 
3. Heat oil in a pan and splutter Mustard seed.
4. Add 2 sprigs of curry leaves, small pieces of dry chillies, urad dal and mix it well. 
5. When the urad daal turn light brown, then add crushed coconut mixture and mix it for 2 minutes in low flame.
6. After that add finely chopped cabbage and salt. 
7. Change into medium flame and stir thoroughly.
8. When the cabbage is cooked, turn off the flame.
 
Enjoy your cabbage thoran. Serve With Rice
