Parippu Kuthi Kachiyathu ( Thrissur Style)
Ingredients
1. Toor daal - 3/4 cup
2. Shallots - 15
3. Dry chilli - 5
4. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
5. Chilli powder -1/2 tsp
6. Cumin seed - 1/2 tsp
7. Mustard seed - 1 tsp
8. Coconut Oil - 2 tbs
9. Curry leaves - 3 spring
10. Salt - to taste
11. Water
Method
1. Take pressure cooker, add daal, turmeric powder, salt and enough water. Cook for 2 whistle.
2. Take a small mixer grinder jar, add shallots and dry chillies. Then just whip it.
3. Heat coconut oil in a pan and splutter mustard seed.
4. Add curry leaves, cumin seed, crushed shallots + dry chillies mixture, and chilli powder. Saute for few minutes.
5. Then add cooked daal and some water (if necessary), nicely mix it.
6. Cook until it is boiled and turn off the flame.
Serve it with white rice, chapathi etc...
