Kondattam Mulak ( Thyru Mulak) / Sun Dried Chillies
Ingredients
1. Green chillies - 1/2 kg
2. Curd - 500 ml
3. Rock salt - 3 tbs
Method
1. Take clean and washed green chillies,
2. Use a sharp knife and slit open the chillies, keep it aside.
3. Take a mixer grinder jar, add curd and salt. Whip it lightly.
4. Pour it in the clay pot and add green chillies, mix it well.
5. Keep it overnight, take out the chillies in the morning and spread it on a plate.
6. Place it in sunlight for the whole day. Again, soak the chillies in the curd and keep it overnight.
7. Next day take off the chillies from the curd and keep it in sunlight for drying, in the evening soak the chillies in the curd.
8. Repeat this process for about 4 or 5 days.
9. When the curd in the pot is finished, then just keep drying the chilli in sun for 2-3 more days. (depends on the sunlight you receive).
10. Once it is completely dried, store it in an airtight container for later use.
11. Heat enough oil and fry the chillies until dark brown, once it is fried take it off from the oil. Keep it on the plate.
Your crispy spicy kodattam mulak is ready!
